If a disconnect occurs (stupid EA) ... then the two coaches will get
together and work out the best solution. In the event of a disconnect - no matter what point the game is at - if possible both coaches should take the stats at that point of the game and then both coaches immediately return to the room and complete the game.
However, in case for some reason the 2 owners can't reconnect, we have several contingencies planned in this system that we feel is fair to all involved.
In the event of a disconnect, it is up to the person leading at the time of the disconnect whether or not to play out the remainder of the game in a new game or start completely from scratch, so long as the following conditions apply:
1. The player is leading by more than 3 or more points
2. The player is leading by any amount of points in the 4th quarter
If a player is leading by less than 3 points and the game disconnects at any point before the 4th quarter, then a new game should be played from the beginning.
In the case of a tie then it is up to both players to agree on a solution, if both parties cannot agree on whether to play a new game completely from the start or play a new game using the previous stats and playing the remaining quarters, then the league officers will issue a verdict and decision upon which the game will be completed.
All disconnects should be reported to the conference commissioner and including the following details:
1. Time and score of disconnect (ex Iowa was up 24-14 with 2:33 left in 3rd quarter)
2. Method used to resolve disconnect (ex We started a brand new game)
3. Who was believed to be at fault, if any, or if EA servers went down (ex I think it was a normal disconnect, I think the other guy pulled the plug).
You will never accuse your opponent of quitting on you. And if you do then we will be taking a hard look at your future with us if any as well. Basically I want the two coaches to talk it over and come up with the most equitable solution, which basically involved attempting to replicate the situation before the D/C.
As QUITTING is not tolerated, all disconnects will be tracked by league officers for each team and if a particular player seems to be involved in a particularly high number of disconnects it is at the discretion of the commissioner as to whether that coach should be replaced or not, depending on his willingness to work to resolve such issues.
