I have 2 questions, really not a big deal..but would like to get a couple of thoughts on it. Alright I've been in leagues for about 3-4 years now...and this is the first time Ive ever had this brought up. Anyway..Its in the 2nd quater with 4 seconds left..I throw a hail mary..The guy pauses and said it was a lob. I'am like yea its a 55 yard hail mary. I mean Ive been watching football since I was 6. I saw Flutie's and Stewart's hail mary..Both went high in the sky (like every hail mary does) that is what the purpose of it is. In this game you can't throw a 55-60 yard frozen rope...you must put air under it. Its not like its one on one...Your in cover 4 or whatever and I have 5 WR's streaking down the field. If I throw a rope it will make it to the 15-20 at tops. So is a semi-lob allowed on a hail mary?
2nd question...If a guy has user striped me 4-5 times in a game then he gets a taunting penalty..I'm I wrong not to pause out of the penalty. I will pause if someone is not user stripping all game...but after my 4th fumble and his 3 personal foul facemasks I think the penalty is warrented.
Any help will help out.

To questions #1 Yes a Hailmary is a lob last time I checked. You chuck it up and pray, yes the offense has a better chance of catching it with an impact WR or a really tall one, but any player worth his salt with be in cover 2 and roving with the SS or FS and coming over the top to knock it down which is not that hard at all to do. Only times I've seen it work is when someone calls zone defense and or just lets the computer controll DBs have at it.
#2 Not 100% sure on that, we will need to make a ruling on it though once 08 comes out. Personally I have always tried to pause out of those, but I have not seen many in some time so it is something we need to make a ruling on for sure. So I guess that answer is TBA.

Penguin, I thought that we had placed something in the rules regarding the Lob in Hail Mary situations, saying that it was allowed. I guess that it must have been taken out.

Well I am working on editing the rules this week and the last couple as well in between my job search, so it is very possible that I might have the part saved to my pc and not currently posted as the rules on the boards are incomplete at the moment.

What is the exact definition of a lob? Does this rule mean we aren't allowed to put air under any of our throws? Or is it specifically talking about the long super-lobs that so many throw online in order to create an easy user catch situation?
Also, it says you must control one player on defense. Am I reading this incorrectly, or does that mean you aren't able to switch players during the play?

You cannot move a player on defense pre-snap and then switch but you can switch once the play is underway. Basically don't move a player into position then switch right when the snap occurs.

Yes you can only move 1 player pre-snap, once the play begins of course you can switch players.

And, it says no line crashing. What is the policy on line stunts and line fans?

Going back to the hailmary i found this in the rules:
"A 4th down hailmary at the end of the half is also acceptable."
I'm assuming that if this is allowed then so is a hailmary with 4 sec left in the half regardless of the down. Please let us know though if this rule should still be in here and whether a semi-lob is allowed in these situations.

i dont have the game.. and dont kno what its like...
but its a realistic time to do it,
if things havent changed, putting air under the ball is fine, its those superlobs that ppl throwin into double and triple coverage and still manage to come down with the ball

There are game reports to fill out, but there's also a "Scouting Report" section in the forum. Do I need to fill out BOTH? In the rules section, it says that the scouting report form is required, but I don't see anything about the forum title.

Both are required persay, but make sure you at least send in a game report as they help us montior the league and the feelings of the owners as you can say things there you would get in trouble for posting on boards for instance.

Filling out coaching reports help us skim the shit out of the league, scouting reports help out league members out with a certain persons style of offense and defense. Both are not required however, highly recommended.
